UMass Memorial Medical Center at Nashoba Valley will open in early 2027 at 490 Main Street in Groton, Massachusetts. Adult and pediatric emergency services will be provided at the level of a traditional hospital emergency department.

Sixteen rooms will be dedicated to emergency care. Clinical support at the site is planned to include laboratory services along with certain imaging services. A helipad will accommodate emergency transport by helicopter.

SLAM Collaborative is serving as architect for the project.

Site selection followed a review of the most immediate concerns facing the region, among them emergency medical services transport times and the availability of health care services across surrounding communities. Fire and EMS chiefs from the region participated in that evaluation, as did members of the Nashoba Valley Health Planning Working Group.

Programming at the location may evolve over time. UMass Memorial Health has indicated that it will continue to assess community needs and may expand offerings at the facility as appropriate.

The facility is being developed as part of UMass Memorial Health’s effort to strengthen access to affordable, high quality care across Central Massachusetts, a service area that includes the Nashoba Valley region.
