HSHS and Lifepoint Rehabilitation Partner on New 40-Bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital in Green Bay Area

HSHS and Lifepoint Rehabilitation formed a joint venture to operate a new 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital under construction near Green Bay. Located on South Taylor Street, the freestanding facility will expand regional rehab capacity and is expected to open later this year.

Hospital Sisters Health System and Lifepoint Rehabilitation have entered a joint venture to operate a new inpatient rehabilitation hospital currently under construction in the greater Green Bay area. The 40-bed facility, to be named the Hospital Sisters Health System | Rehabilitation Hospital, is located on South Taylor Street near HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center and is scheduled to open later in 2026.

Designed as a freestanding inpatient rehabilitation hospital, the project will feature the only regional Traumatic Brain Injury unit serving Northeast Wisconsin. Clinical programs will address conditions including stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, neurological disorders, orthopedic surgery, amputation, and related rehabilitation needs. Forty private patient rooms will double the inpatient rehabilitation capacity currently provided at HSHS St. Vincent Hospital.

Expansion of off-campus rehabilitation services will allow HSHS St. Vincent Hospital to repurpose its existing inpatient rehabilitation unit to support acute care demand. Facility design includes multidisciplinary therapy gymnasiums, activities of daily living suites, adaptive treatment areas, and outdoor courtyards intended to support patient mobility and recovery.

Day-to-day operations will be managed by Lifepoint Rehabilitation, adding the Green Bay facility to a national portfolio of nearly 50 inpatient rehabilitation hospitals. Medical services will be supported by physicians from Prevea Health, alongside nursing and therapy teams providing physical, occupational, and speech therapies.

The rehabilitation hospital strengthens an established medical corridor along Highway 41 that includes the Prevea Medical Office Building, Prevea Ambulatory Surgery Center, and the HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center campus, where construction is underway on a new inpatient tower.

Details were announced jointly by Hospital Sisters Health System and Lifepoint Rehabilitation on January 12, 2026.
