Ohio Kids Dental to Open New Girard Location in Former Rite Aid Building

Ohio Kids Dental plans to open a pediatric dental office in the former Rite Aid at 713 N. State Street in Girard. The $1.5M acquisition marks the practice’s first Mahoning Valley location, with an opening expected in early Q4 2026.

Ohio Kids Dental plans to open a new pediatric dental office in the former Rite Aid building at 713 North State Street in Girard, Ohio, introducing the practice’s first location in the Mahoning Valley. The single-tenant retail property previously operated as a Rite Aid pharmacy, which closed in July 2024 as part of a broader round of store closures across the region.

According to Trumbull County Auditor records, the building was sold to Pahornrebs LLC for $1.5 million on August 28, 2025. Following the acquisition, Ohio Kids Dental has confirmed plans to redevelop the site for pediatric dental services serving children from birth through age 18. Parents will be permitted to remain with patients during appointments.

The Girard office will expand Ohio Kids Dental’s footprint beyond its existing locations in Cuyahoga Falls, Maumee, and Hamilton, Ohio. While an official opening date has not been finalized, the practice expects the Girard location to open in early fourth quarter 2026. Appointment scheduling is anticipated to begin in September 2026.

In addition to in-office care, Ohio Kids Dental plans to offer community-based outreach programs in the Girard area. These include the use of portable dental units to provide preventative care at schools and early learning centers, reducing the need for parents to arrange transportation or take time off work. The practice will also extend its Caring4Community Program to Girard and surrounding communities, providing donations to local schools and nonprofit organizations.

City officials have confirmed the planned reuse of the property, marking a transition of the former pharmacy site into a healthcare-oriented use along North State Street, per reporting by 21 News.
