Texas Health Fort Worth will add four floors to its Justin Tower and move Women’s Services there as the Jane and John Justin Center for Women & Infants. The project also relocates the OB emergency department, expands the NICU to 86 beds, and keeps the tower open through 2029 construction.
Texas Health Resources is raising an operating patient tower in Fort Worth by four floors, part of a multi-campus building program in North Texas. Work at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth will extend the Jane and John Justin Tower upward, placing a relocated Women’s Services program on new levels 11 and 12 while floors nine and 10 stay as shell space for future use.
That women’s and infant program will operate as the Jane and John Justin Center for Women & Infants, supported by a naming gift from the Jane & John Justin Foundation, which also backed the tower’s original construction. Labor and delivery, a nursery, dedicated operating rooms, and antepartum, postpartum, and gynecology accommodations are planned for the added space.
Crews are separately completing shell floors four and five, adding 71 patient rooms along with a Surgical Trauma Progressive Care Unit for patients between intensive and general care. Those rooms are due to open in 2026, and the vertical addition is targeted for 2029. The tower will keep running throughout construction.
A relocated Obstetric Emergency Department will occupy the ground floor with its own entrance. Inside the adjoining Jones Tower, neonatal intensive care will grow by 32 private beds to 86, with a 2030 opening near the sky bridge to Cook Children’s Medical Center.
Texas Health Fort Worth traces to 1930 and holds a Level IV maternal designation, the highest available, within a metro that recently passed 1 million residents. Justin Tower opened in April 2022 with 144 beds, according to the health system. Elsewhere, Texas Health has an eight-story tower rising in Plano, a five-story tower at its Southwest Fort Worth hospital, and a first acute care hospital under construction in Forney.
