Timberline Construction Corp. has completed a multi-phase redevelopment and expansion of Ethos Port City Veterinary Hospital in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, encompassing the conversion of an existing office property into a specialized veterinary facility alongside new construction and infrastructure upgrades.
Work began with the transformation of the original structure into a 24,000 SF hospital environment designed to support advanced veterinary services. Interior systems were fully rebuilt to accommodate clinical operations, including procedure areas and diagnostic imaging capabilities such as MRI and CT. Structural modifications were introduced to support specialized medical equipment and overhead systems, requiring coordination between design and field execution as project conditions evolved.
Subsequent phases introduced a ground-up addition of approximately 2,500 SF to house a linear accelerator used for radiation-based treatment. This component required heavily reinforced construction, including thick cast-in-place concrete assemblies and shielding elements to meet regulatory requirements for radiation containment. Dedicated infrastructure systems were integrated to support equipment operation and control.
Mechanical upgrades were implemented across the active facility, including rooftop unit replacements and installation of variable air volume and fan-powered distribution systems. Construction activities were sequenced to maintain continuous hospital operations during all phases of work.
The completed program delivers more than 51,500 SF of upgraded and newly constructed healthcare space.
