Illinois regulators have cleared a new Rush University System for Health outpatient facility planned for Elmhurst. Approval came through the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board under the state Certificate of Need process, a required review that weighs documented demand before a health care project can advance to construction.
Rush intends to develop a 22,695 SF medical office building at 107 N. York St., a DuPage County location west of Chicago. Programming covers physician exam rooms, imaging, laboratory services, pharmacy services and additional outpatient care. Kate Jones, senior vice president and chief strategy officer, said patients from the area already use Rush facilities elsewhere in the system and that the organization intends to keep working with local partners as design advances.
Rush disclosed the approval in a late July announcement. Estimated project cost is $27 million, and completion is targeted for summer 2028.
