High Street Tower has opened at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. The five-story building now holds all hospital-based maternity services for Med Center Health, including labor and delivery, a dedicated obstetrics emergency department, and the region’s only Level III NICU. Construction began in June 2024.
Maternity care at Med Center Health’s Bowling Green campus has a new address. High Street Tower, a five-story patient care building at The Medical Center at Bowling Green, has opened, and all hospital-based maternity services now operate inside it.
Two floors of the tower are dedicated to Women’s and Children’s Services. That space brings together labor and delivery, cesarean suites, ante-partum and post-partum areas, a mother-baby unit, an emergency department serving obstetrical patients exclusively, and the region’s only Level III neonatal intensive care unit. Med Center Health operates one of the largest obstetrics units in Kentucky, and the tower was programmed to give that service expanded room.
Remaining floors were designed to accommodate future growth. Med Center Health has identified expansion of its emergency department, surgery, endoscopy, and additional medical and surgical beds as the uses those floors are intended to absorb.
Groundbreaking took place on June 13, 2024, at green space adjacent to the Emergency Department parking lot at High Street and East Fourth Avenue. Med Center Health hosted the ceremony together with the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce. Connie Smith, President and CEO of Med Center Health, said at the time that the project would allow the system to continue offering “the most advanced care and services in Southcentral Kentucky.”
Completion was targeted for the summer of 2026 from the outset, a schedule aligned with the 100th anniversary of Med Center Health, whose origins trace back to City Hospital on hospital hill. Smith noted at groundbreaking that the building would rise steps away from the former location of High Street School.
Med Center Health announced the opening through its own communications on August 25, 2026.
High Street Tower is located at 250 Park Street in Bowling Green, Kentucky, at the corner of High Street and Fourth Avenue, with parking available in front of the building. It is part of The Medical Center at Bowling Green, one of six hospitals operated by Med Center Health, alongside facilities in Albany, Caverna, Franklin, Russellville, and Scottsville.
