Catholic Medical Center has opened Nashua ER at 338 Amherst Street, the first freestanding emergency room in Greater Nashua. The nearly 11,000 SF campus runs 24/7 for all ages, with eleven treatment rooms, a trauma bay, CT and ultrasound imaging, onsite labs, and an EMS ambulance entrance.
Catholic Medical Center has expanded its presence in southern New Hampshire by opening a standalone emergency facility in Nashua, bringing emergency treatment of hospital caliber to a community that previously lacked a dedicated option of this kind.
Freestanding emergency departments function as licensed campuses of a parent hospital, staying open around the clock while delivering diagnostic and treatment capabilities on par with those inside a main medical center. These sites stabilize and treat patients on location, arranging transfer to an inpatient hospital only when a case calls for admission. Across New Hampshire, health systems have adopted this model in recent years to position acute care resources nearer to growing population centers.
Known as Nashua ER, the facility serves patients of every age at any hour. Staffing centers on board-certified emergency physicians working alongside nurses and support personnel trained for acute situations. Diagnostic tools available on location include computed tomography, radiography, ultrasound, and laboratory testing, allowing clinicians to assess conditions from cardiac events and stroke to breathing difficulty, abdominal pain, fractures, and head trauma without sending patients elsewhere.
