Cleveland Clinic Dedicates 150,000 SF Jeffrey and Patricia Cole Pavilion at Cole Eye Institute

Cleveland Clinic has dedicated the 150,000 SF Jeffrey and Patricia Cole Pavilion at the Cole Eye Institute on its main campus. The new pavilion enhances clinical, research, and patient care space for ophthalmology services.

Cleveland Clinic has formally dedicated the Jeffrey and Patricia Cole Pavilion, a newly completed 150,000 SF facility at the Cole Eye Institute on the health system’s main campus in Cleveland, Ohio. The pavilion expands clinical, research, and support space for ophthalmology services and allied specialties, positioning the Cole Eye Institute to accommodate growth in patient volume and clinical programs.

The Jeffrey and Patricia Cole Pavilion is designed to integrate outpatient clinical areas, diagnostic services, procedural suites, administrative operations, and research functions within a consolidated facility tailored for eye care and vision-related disciplines. Key features include dedicated clinical exam rooms, procedure and minor surgical spaces, imaging and diagnostic zones, laboratory and research areas, and support spaces for patients and families.

The pavilion is located adjacent to existing Cole Eye Institute structures and connects with the broader clinical campus through internal circulation and campus wayfinding. Site planning and building design were coordinated to align with the Clinic’s campus master plan, allowing for coordinated access, patient flow, and integration with adjacent clinical buildings.

Funding for the project included philanthropic support from Jeffrey and Patricia Cole, whose contributions are recognized in the pavilion’s name. The expanded facility enables the consolidation of dispersed services under one roof and supports multidisciplinary interaction among clinical, research, and administrative teams.

The dedication ceremony marked the official opening of the pavilion for clinical and operational use. Cleveland Clinic communications and institutional reporting provided project details, including facility size, program components, and the role of the expanded space in the system’s service offerings.
