Centra Southside Breaks Ground on $5M ER Expansion

Centra Southside Community Hospital in Farmville, Virginia, has broken ground on a $5 million renovation and expansion of its Emergency Department. The project adds over 2,000 SF, increasing capacity from 18 to 21 bays with new behavioral health and fast-track rooms to reduce wait times. A family consultation area will enhance privacy. Construction will continue while the ER remains open, with completion expected by summer 2026. Hospital leaders say the project strengthens emergency care for the eight-county region.
