Intermountain Health has opened the Badura Clinic in southwest Las Vegas, a three story medical office building of 90,000 SF that is the system’s first ground up construction project in Nevada. Martin-Harris Construction developed the property and HDR, Inc. provided the architecture.
Ambulatory care in the Las Vegas Valley gained a new anchor this week, as Intermountain Health opened the Badura Clinic and completed the first building it has constructed from the ground up anywhere in Nevada.
Located in Spring Valley, a fast growing southwest corridor of roughly 250,000 residents, the three story facility measures 90,000 SF and consolidates services the system previously ran from separate addresses. Programming covers adult and senior primary care, pediatrics, women’s health, diabetes and endocrinology, rheumatology, infusion and palliative care, with women’s health and palliative care new to the system’s Nevada offering. Shriners Children’s holds dedicated space for pediatric orthopedic and rehabilitative care.
Oncology accounts for much of the technical scope. Medical and radiation oncology share a cancer center outfitted with PET and CT imaging and linear accelerators. Accelerator vaults are typically built as heavily reinforced shielded enclosures whose concrete work and equipment openings must be resolved before enclosure and interior finishes begin, while imaging suites add structural loading and electrical demands of their own. Departments of this kind are commissioned and licensed individually rather than all at once, which aligns with clinical teams moving in by phase over several months.
Groundbreaking took place in June 2024 and the structure topped off a year later, putting roughly two years between start and occupancy. Across Clark and Nye counties, Intermountain Health counts more than 80 clinics at 65 locations and reports serving over 350,000 patients in Southern Nevada, according to information the not for profit system released for the opening. A standalone children’s hospital, announced as the first comprehensive facility of its kind in the state, remains ahead of it.
Martin-Harris Construction, a Nevada company, developed the building at 8350 W. Badura Ave., and HDR, Inc. served as architect, drawing the exterior palette and patterning from Red Rock Canyon to the west.
