Batesville, Indiana, will gain a replacement hospital on Saturday, Aug. 8, when Margaret Mary Health begins operating at 1155 State Road 229 North. Emergency services will run from the new address on opening day, with coverage continuing through the changeover.
Inpatients at the existing campus will be relocated the same day, and Lett’s EMS is handling ambulance transport between the two buildings. Visitor access will be restricted while patients are in transit.
A limited set of services will be adjusted during the morning of the move. Certain functions will run from both campuses, and others will operate on a reduced basis. Outpatient laboratory work and EKG testing will be available at the new hospital on opening day. Patients affected by a schedule change are being contacted in advance, so anyone with an appointment that weekend should rely on direct notice rather than general announcements.
Dual-site operation is confined to a single morning, which places the changeover among same-day hospital relocations rather than phased departmental migrations spread over several weeks. Food service follows a separate timeline. The café serving the current hospital will close to the public on Friday, Aug. 7, and will reopen Monday, Aug. 10, inside the new building.
