AdventHealth will begin treating patients on July 27, 2026, at a newly opened cancer center in Winter Garden, Florida, pushing specialized oncology services further into fast growing West Orange County. A ribbon cutting marked the debut, with hematologist and oncologist Dr. Mazen Zaarour among those helping lead clinical care.
Placement of the center reflects a broader industry shift toward moving cancer treatment away from central hospital campuses and closer to where patients live. Community based oncology sites have gained momentum nationally as health systems work to ease travel burdens during long treatment courses.
Care at the location spans radiation oncology, medical oncology and immunotherapy, supported by genetics informed treatment planning from board certified oncologists, specialized nurses and nurse navigators. An on site Eden Spa and Boutique addresses hair loss, lymphedema and post mastectomy needs, while patients also connect to AdventHealth’s wider roster of cancer specialists.
Projected demand helps explain the investment. Consulting firm Sg2 estimates that PET imaging demand across the area will rise 7.1 percent by 2027. Diagnostic imaging volume often serves as an early indicator of downstream treatment activity, and figures like this typically track with population growth and an aging resident base, both common across suburban Central Florida.
Beyond clinical services, local officials framed the project as an economic contributor, with Mayor John Rees pointing to roughly 50 new jobs. AdventHealth shared details of the opening through its newsroom.
