Jupiter Medical Center is building a second campus in Palm Beach Gardens. The 53,000 SF Neighborhood Hospital at The Health Park at Avenir will offer emergency care, 29 inpatient beds and four operating rooms. It is set to open in early 2028.
Jupiter Medical Center, ranked as the top rated health system in Palm Beach County, has begun construction on a second campus in the western part of the county. The new facility, Jupiter Medical Center Neighborhood Hospital at The Health Park at Avenir, will rise within the Avenir master planned community in Palm Beach Gardens, near the intersection of Northlake Boulevard and Landstar Drive.
The two story building will total 53,000 SF and include 29 inpatient beds along with four operating rooms. Hospital officials say the site will offer emergency care and handle a range of procedures, including orthopedic, cardiac and gastrointestinal treatments, though it will not house an intensive care unit or the more advanced surgical services typically reserved for larger campuses.
Western Palm Beach County has experienced rapid residential growth in recent years, with new subdivisions joining longstanding communities such as Ibis and The Acreage. Residents in those areas have historically traveled roughly 10 miles to reach the nearest hospital. Once complete, the new campus is expected to serve about 40,000 residents in the surrounding area.
Construction comes as Florida weighs a statewide property tax overhaul that could shift portions of the tax burden from local governments onto commercial property owners, a proposal that has drawn attention from nonprofit institutions, including hospitals. Jupiter Medical Center operates as an independent, not for profit organization, and its leadership has pointed to rising operating costs as an ongoing consideration in long term planning, according to WLRN Public Media.
The Neighborhood Hospital at The Health Park at Avenir is slated to open in early 2028. The facility sits within the Avenir community at Northlake Boulevard and Landstar Drive in Palm Beach Gardens and will function as a satellite campus of Jupiter Medical Center.
