ProHealth Waukesha Memorial Hospital Begins $125 Million Surgical Services Renovation and Expansion Project in Wisconsin

ProHealth Waukesha Memorial Hospital has launched a $125 million surgical services renovation that will reconfigure 114,000 SF and add 14,000 SF of new space. The project consolidates operating rooms, recovery areas, and cardiac catheterization labs into one integrated zone by March 2028.

ProHealth Waukesha Memorial Hospital has initiated a major capital improvement program valued at $125 million to modernize its surgical infrastructure. The multi-year initiative centers on consolidating various procedural departments into a unified surgical services complex.

Renovation work will affect approximately 114,000 SF of existing hospital space, while new vertical construction will add roughly 14,000 SF above the laboratory section. Most development focuses on interior reconfiguration rather than expanding the building’s overall footprint.

Hospital administrators are reorganizing clinical spaces to create operational efficiencies and accommodate increasing patient volumes. The consolidated surgical zone will eventually contain operating theaters, preoperative preparation areas, recovery suites, cardiac catheterization laboratories, interventional radiology facilities, and post-anesthesia care units.

Initial phases have already been completed. Imaging services have been repositioned near the western entrance to improve patient access. A digestive health endoscopy suite on the lower level has been renovated with new procedure rooms and patient preparation spaces. An additional CT scanner has been installed and activated.

Upon completion, the facility will feature 12 operating rooms, including an enhanced hybrid operating room equipped with advanced imaging capabilities for complex interventions. Twenty additional private preparation and recovery rooms will serve multiple procedural areas, and two new multi-purpose procedure rooms will be added.

Construction will proceed in phases to maintain uninterrupted patient services. Hospital officials announced in a previous statement that the project is scheduled for completion by March 2028 and is being financed through internal capital resources.
